Graves Registration

The goal of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War Grave Registration Project is to locate the final resting places of all Union Civil War Veterans.

To accomplish this, our members spend many hours wandering through local cemeteries and scouring through records at libraries and archives. Once the grave of a veteran has been located, it is documented and entered into the database of the Department of Michigan's graves registration program..

If you know where a Civil War veteran is buried in the Genesee, Lapeer, and Tuscola County area please contact our graves registration officer at the address below. Any information is greatly appreciated! Our graves registration officer will also be happy to assist you with any questions you have about the program, or veterans from Genesee, Lapeer, or Tuscola County.
